Sew Cute Tuesday

I thought I’d join in with my friend Alyce at Blossom Heart Quilts today for “Sew Cute Tuesday” because I have been working on some cute stuff this week…

Today I finally bit the bullet, stopped being a chicken (is it just me or is it much easier to stick with what you know, regardless of how simple the project I’m putting off is?) and got out my key fob hardware to make some key rings…
Oh my goodness these really couldn’t be faster and easier! Why am I such a procrastinator?!
I ended up making 20 for my upcoming markets in no time at all…

My method (for those who are interested) was:

I took a 12 inch by 5 inch rectangle, ironed it in half width wise, opened it back up again, then ironed the raw edges to the middle fold I just made. Then I opened one side back out and slotted a 1.25 inch by 12 inch piece of iron on fleece/pellon/felt then ironed it all back over in half. Then I quilted 5 evenly spaced lines of quilting down the length, folded it in half length wise, and clamped the hardware shut over the raw ends with pliers.
Too easy.

This week I’ve also made a rainbow of skirts which you can read the full post with pattern information over here…

And made a QAYG framed purse with tutorials here…

Quite a bright and colourful week really!!

Can’t wait until tomorrow. Next on the list is a bunch of market bags for my shop.
Although perhaps I might have to tidy up first because boy oh boy is my craft room a pigsty!!

In other news I’m having my local launch party tomorrow night with all my local contacts who have been asking to see my stuff for ages but haven’t had the chance yet.
– Think a relaxed party at my home with wine, cheese, chocolate (of course) and hopefully lots of shopping 😉
Eeek should be really fun and I can’t wait!

So that’s what I’ve been up to this week… Amidst it all I’m trying to work on my online shop so I can get all my products online, but it’s hard to find the time. It’s coming though… promise.

  1. Selling stuff while enjoying a glass of wine has a lot to be said for it. And you have two wondeful models on hand, and a Mr Flutter to man the till and top up wine glasses.

  2. Hi Kat! You have been busy and made so beautiful things! Same here with some ‘so difficult to start’ projects – I still haven’t made framed purses or those key rings. Your are adorable! x Teje

  3. Have fun! I’m obviously loosing it, because I read that first sentence about the part 3 times before I twigged that it said ‘launch’ party and not ‘lunch’ party *ahem*

  4. Love those key forms. Really need to make one for the kids. I love mine which I got in a swap. It is so handy to put it on the wrist and not holding the key. Hope you had a wonderful party
