Well hello there…

Hello from my new WordPress blog!

*waving at you madly.*

I have taken the bull by the horn and gone live with my new website.

From now on you can find me at:

www.http://katsoper.com

I must admit that now I’ve got my head around the WordPress menu and all the hard bits are done I.am.loving.it!

Dealing with html and technical language = not so fun.
But looking at a pretty new blog = LOVE ♥ LOVE!!!

It finally looks like how I wanted it to in my mind.

If you are reading this via email or Bloglovin this is what my website now looks like…

flutterkat dot com

Hopefully if you subscribe by email you should still receive my emails without doing anything differently.

Otherwise please consider following me on Bloglovin or your reader of choice.

You can also sign up to receive emails here.

Please let me know if you come across any glitches. I’d really appreciate knowing about them so that I can fix them up.

Thanks heaps

Blog ending

  1. I LoVe it! Awesome new modern look! I’m off to subscribe & make sure I don’t miss your updates. congrats on the move!

  2. Congratulations with the new website! I have changed you over in my Bloglovin now, too. Your site is/was lovely, it seems to me only changed in the details (apart from having to click through to see the whole text of the post), but I suppose the biggest difference would be at your end?! The only thing I noticed is when you just enter “http://katsoper.com” in the address bar, the site comes up with only a “-” in the top tab of the browser. This is replaced by a post title once you click through to a post though. You must have done so much work though to change over…!!!

    1. Hi Sandra!
Thanks for your comment. I think the biggest change is that I now own my content and have much more control behind the scenes. You are right it doesn’t look too different as a reader. I did that for intentionally for my readers so that they could navigate around without too much trouble finding things on the new site. Because this format is familiar.
I think the difference will become more clear over time because I have much more control over the formatting and appearance of my posts now so they will start to (hopefully) look and read a lot better.
      Time will tell.
      Thanks heaps
      Kat

    1. Hi Katy!
Yes that is annoying the heck out of me but I can’t figure out where the settings to change that are because all the settings seem the same as they did on my old site. Did you receive the email without having to subscribe again to the new site?
As soon as I can figure out how to fix that I definitely will be because it looks awful! 🙁

  3. ive been a follower of your blog for quite some time now and have enjoyed watching the house progress, your new site looks nice but i must say i won’t be following as much now. i like to be able to pull up a blog and read the whole post without having to click to read more. the new way has you click and if you have missed a few days, you click, go back, click, go back and so forth. gonna miss you.

    1. Hi Cindi
Thanks for your feedback. That is one of the downsides. Did you notice the recent posts list on the right hand sidebar? Maybe I will move that up further but I’m hoping that will make it a 1 click option for people who would like to read my other recent posts. There are 10 in the list…
I can change that front page but I quite like it in a list. It helps new readers see at a glance what I’ve been writing about recently.
      Kind regards
      Kat

  4. It looks very pretty. Right now Feedly is not finding it, just a comment feed instead. I will try again tomorrow. I do find blog where I have to type in my name, email and blog address for commenting to be ones I seldom comment on. Maybe you can turn that part off?

  5. Congratulations. I love the nice, clean lines of your new format. I’am also in awe of your swap as even putting pictures in a post can be a very time consuming affair. My photos jump around and arrange themselves where they wish. From what you say, it might be easier on WordPress. Any way, you will continue to inspire me.

  6. Alas the blogger dashboard can’t find a feed from it either (I see Feedly’s struggling above), not sure what’s causing that, but it won’t remove it now either even though if can’t find you o.O
