giveaway_2013_Dec9Happy Giveaway Day!!

It is the season of giving so I thought I’d jump right in and join in the Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day…

First if you are new here then allow me to introduce myself…

Hi, I’m Kat *waves.img_0600-copy EC B&W

If you are new here I hope you will take a look around and stay a while. Up the top you will find inspiration galleries of all my tutorials (new ones added most weeks) and some of my past projects. You will also find links to my online stores where I sell my sewing patterns and soon have all my makes available to purchase also.

I like to diarize my life here whether that be sewing, quilting, renovating, mothering, small business and anything in between.

Best ways to follow me are by email, through Bloglovin or through Feedly. I’m also on Instagram, Pinterest and Flickr. (Use the buttons under my picture to follow me on those too.)

Now to the fun part…

One of my favourite things to sew is small Quilt As You Go projects! I find them fun, creative, colourful and addictive. They incorporate all my favourite things – sewing, design, quilting and fast projects.  So today I want to embrace that and give away the ultimate QAYG package…

quilt as you go packageThe “Ultimate QAYG package” will include everything you wish you make your own QAYG project…

First you will choose a free copy of one of my sewing patterns – either my All-in-one Bag Pattern, Scrappy Pouch Pattern or Zipper Pouch Pattern. OR you could choose to make my free Purse Frame Pattern and I will send you the hardware for that instead.

Then I will send you everything you need to make it. So that includes all the scraps and the hardware, whether that be a purse frame, zippers, magnetic snaps, D-rings etc to make the pattern you chose.
Everything!

Instead of putting together a generic scrap pack, I would also love to put together a personalised scrap pack just for you from my stash. So once you win you will need to let me know your favourite colours and designers or prints and I will try my best to put together the perfect scrap package.

Here are some examples using my favourite colour blue…

Option 1: An “All-in-one” bag package including pattern, hardware and scraps…

all in one giveaway package

Option 2: A Scrappy Pouch Package including relevant pattern, hardware and scraps…

Entry is simple…

Just leave a comment telling me which pattern you would most like to make and why.

If you are a follower I’d love you to have a second entry. Just leave a second comment to say how you follow.
(New followers included… see the details of how to follow at the beginning of my post).

Entries will close this Friday 13th December 2013 and be announced on Saturday.

Best of luck!!

  1. This is such a fantastic giveaway prize! I would love option 3 – the zipper pouch! It would be so lovely to make these for my kids and myself!

  2. I like the all in one bag. Nice to have a purse like that when you are shopping. Not to big and you can throw over your shoulder.

  3. The all-in-one would be great, I’ve never made one like it before, actually I’ve made very few zippered bags. I follow on instagram.
Thanks for the chance to win!

  4. I would love to have option #3. I have tons of girls in my family, so I’ve been wanting to learn to make a zippered pouch. They would make awesome gifts!!

  5. i think i would choose the purse frame pattern because i have always wanted to make and have one of those little framed purses! thanks for the chance to win!

  6. The all-in one (option1) is my favorite, the colors and fabric you used sold me on that one 🙂 plus I love zippers in my purses and snap closures, it’s a great design.

  7. i can’t decide between 3 and 4! i think maybe 4 because i’ve been making lots of zippered pouches and i haven’t tried the purse frame yet. yes, 4 please.

  8. Option 1, option 1 — so cute! I love it! Love those little pleats, what a nice shape it has! Thank you! (Sorry about all the exclamation points.)

  9. Hi Kat,
I’d just like to thank you for the opportunity to win one of your kits, and from your own stash no less. They (our stashs) are near and dear to our hearts so you are a brave girl! I follow your blog through Bloglovin and also on Instagram. If I were to win this giveaway I would most like to make option #2, The Scrappy Pouch Package as I have never made anything like that before. I’m a newer sewer/ quilter and all I have learned has been virtually from great tutorials that I have watched online or from books. I love the look of the one in the picture and I have a couple of ideas in my head already of what fabric choices I might like to go with or possibly a themed pouch.
I’ve rambled on enough. Have a great day Kat!

    Lisa

  10. The scrappy pouch (option #2) could be a very handy size for cords and chargers, with its wide opening! And if chosen, gray colorways, from light wispy mists to deep melanged charcoals, low-contrast neutrals would see a lot of use! Thanks for the opportunity!

  11. I would love the all-in-one as I really need that type of bag to go on small errands like walking the dog when I don’t want to bring a whole purse! Thanks for the great giveaway!

  12. I’d opt for the all-in-one bag and I’d let you pick the colors and patterns for me. I tend to use the same colors all the time and would like to take the chance to have something completely different. Thanks for the chance!

  13. Option 2 is calling me, the lush curves and the bright colours, I just love it. I have made the “All in One bag and your little purse and i have made a few little zippered clutch style bags.

  14. I would choose Option 1. Love the bag! After I saw your tutorial on the coin purse, I immediately went out and purchased the frame but haven’t had a chance to work on it yet! Hopefully if I win you mail to the USA!

  15. Option #4. I’ve always wanted to try making one of those little bags (but don’t have the supplies). A kit would take away all my excuses!

I love Heather Ross prints and cute stuff like that (in any colors).

  16. I love option 4, the Purse Frame pattern. I’ve never made one before and my wallet I’ve have for 10 years, is starting to fall apart. It’s probably time to do something about it. I also have to admit, I’m rather envious of that fish fabric scrap you show. That’s one of my favorite fabrics ever, but didn’t discover it until it was too late. Thanks for the giveaway!

  17. I’d love the purse frame option (4)! I’ve always loved how classic those purses are but have been to afraid to try making one myself – this would be great!!

  18. Fun blog! Thank you for being part of the sew mama sew giveaway day! I would choose option 1 as I like a bag w/ a strap! thank you!!

  19. They’re all super cute, but I think I’d choose the all-in-one bag, mostly because I only seem to have enormous purses. It’d be nice to have something a little smaller to carry just the essentials 🙂

  20. I would love any of these kits! They are beautiful! I love your posts, especially seeing your daughters growing up each week. You are so lucky and so are they!

  21. Oh this is a HARD choice because this is such a fun idea! I think I would go with the zipper pouch (number 3) because I could see it being perfect to throw in my bag for on-the-go handstitching kit!

  22. I’d love to try the all in one bag. Looks perfect size for a couple errands time..not have to carry anything big and heavy but this bag will hold what i need! Thanks for the giveaway

  23. Thanks so much for a great giveaway. I would go for the scrappy pouch as I have never tried one before, I make lots of zippy pouches usually.

  24. Love them all but Option 1 is perhaps the one I would choose. I have never made a bag like this and it would be a challenge. Just the sort of bag my daughter would enjoy using too.

  25. All your bags are really adorable. I like #2 because of the shape and the flap. But I also like #1 because it has straps. Thank you so much for your giveaway.

  26. I would love option 1 for my daughter. She is taking a sewing class at the school she attends part time. This would be a great project!

  27. Ooo, I’d pick option #4 — I’ve always wanted to try making a frame bag like that.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity (even if I don’t win)!

  28. Awesome blog, I’m going to have a look around your tutorials and try one out. I’ve wanted to have a go at some quilting for ages. I think the all in one bag is the one I would like to make, it’s hard to choose!

  29. My favorite is the zipper pouch. I could use a bunch of these myself for makeup and sewing trinkets and travel and all kinds of things.

  30. Option one, because I’m on a purse roll this month, but so far everything I’ve made has been too giant, so I’m looking for a normal sized purse!

  31. I’d love to try the All in one bag. It looks like a bag I’d get a lot of use out of, plus it looks like there are some new techniques I’d like to try.

  32. I would pick the zipper clutch. My sister is in long term rehab and draws a lot. She needs something to hold her colored pencils and this would be perfect.

  33. I think I would like to win option 4 as I have never made a bag using a little purse frame. Thank you for the giveaway! I just found your blog via Pinterest! I pinned your scrappy QAYG bed quilt.

  34. I love the all on one option 1. It looks so functional! And how adorable are those fish! Thanks for the chance to win!

  35. I really like the Scrappy Pouch package. The shape of it is so nice, and it would look great in any fabric! Thank you for the chance to win. 🙂

  36. I like Option 1, the All-In-One package the best – it’s the style of bag that I like & it doesn’t look too complex. Thanks for the fab giveaway!

  37. I would love the all in one bag package please. I love the way you have done your fabrics on a diagonal. Great tutorials too. Thanks for hosting and I am now a follower.

  38. What an awesome giveaway!!!! Its hard to choose they all look like they would be fun to make, but I am going to have to go with option 2. Thanks for the opportunity to win.

  39. Thank you for this great giveaway! I would choose the “All-in-one” bag package. Thank you for the chance!

  40. Awwweeesome giveaway!! I am a huge fan of scrappy goodness, so one of these kits would be most welcome in my home! Thanks so much for the chance to win!

I love them all, but I’m partial to the first two kits. 🙂

    Love your starburst tutorial!

Hope you and yours have a wonderful holiday!

    Hugs from Bermuda! xx Mari-Ann/Rockislander
(PS: I can provide a US mailing address if you’d rather not ship out to the middle of the ocean!) 🙂

  41. I’d love to get option 2! I feel that I would like to have something I can make that will be seen by people, so I’d like to make a bag. Option 1 and option 2 are more of my style, but I like option 2 better because it’s made of scraps so I feel that it has more character!

  42. They are all so cute but I would have to go for the “all-in-one” because if I don’t have a strap I am liable to leave a bag just anywhere.

  43. I think I would like the 3rd one. It looks to be the easiest. I have never made a bag before. Thanks for the opportunity.

  44. Ohhh….I’d love to make the last kit. I’m dying to learn how to make a purse with a clasp. I’m a new sewer and this year I mastered zipper pouches…

  45. Thanks for doing the giveaway! I would like pattern 1 – I like the strap and I only use bags with straps because my hands are already full with little hands! 😀 Thanks for the giveaway

  46. I would love to try the frame bag kit. They scare me a little, but I want to push myself to try something new in the coming year. Many thanks for a fabulous giveaway!

  47. All in One Bag which is what I wish my life was like…all in the bag! HA! Love your fabric choices and how they all turn out beautiful. I put to much energy in picking fabric gives me a headache, so whatever you would pick would be perfect.

  48. I would like to try the All-in-one bag because it looks a bit more complicated than anything I have attempted to make so far 🙂

  49. I’d pick the all-in-one bag….I like the 7.5×11 size. Smaller than some of my other bags, but large enough to hold the necessary stuff. And I like all the pockets and stuff!

  50. I’d love to give the All-in-one bag a go as it’s just the right size for popping into town & I’ve never tried quilt as you go and it looks like fun!

  51. The had bag because I’ve been carrying the same bag for, well I’m embarrassed to say. Let’s just say I need to make a new one. 🙂

  52. I would like to make the All in One bag, it looks like it will take a bit of everything. Great blog, I think I will enjoy looking around. hayleymstephens at gmail dot com

  53. I would choose the frame purse because that has been on my “want to try” list for some time now, but I have yet to actually take the plunge and purchase the things I need to make one!

  54. I would love to make option 1 – All in one bag. It sounds like a bag I might actually use! I usually just use my pockets to carry things around with, or ask my boyfriend to carry for me. This bag looks stylish, is a nice compact size, and has pockets for my phone and cards within it too. – Love it!!

  55. I would pick option 1! It would be a perfect bag for my mum, she asked for a small bag with a long shoulder strap. 🙂

Thanks for the chance to win!

  56. Option one – All-in-one – for my daughter, and option 4 for me. I love the clasp and I need to stop losing my change.

  57. The All In One Bag looks interesting and not too hard to attempt for a first quilt as you go project. Thanks for the chance to win.

  58. I love the zipper pouch pattern, because I’d love to use this as a pencil case for carrying to my classes in school. Thanks for this fun giveaway!

  59. I love them all – love quilt as you go! But if I had to choose, I suppose I would go for the all in one bag. Great to see your work!

  60. I’d like the scrappy pouch because it would be so convenient to just take that into the store
instead of the purse. Thanks for asking and the chance to win.

  61. I love the frame purse option. I have been wanting to make one because it is something I would use. I mostly sew things for other people.

  62. I would choose Option 2 /Scrappy Pouch Package. I love all the different fabrics and it is a style I have not created before. Looks like a fun project!

  63. Love the all-in-one bag, seems like it can store a lot and it’s easy to carry around, my type of bag! 🙂

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  64. I like the zipper pouch, Looks great and I know I will be able to do this one. I am a novice. Merry Christmas from Oklahoma, USA. crystalbluern at onlineok dot com

  65. I’d love to make number 2 or 4 or 3… so indecisive. Your scraps are yummy. Really. What a wonderful prize. Thank you for participating in the Giveaway Day.
