**  It has been FREEZING here again this week! Just as we started to get used to some lovely spring sunshine, winter came back just to spite us.

**  There has been a lot of storm damage around the region thanks to the 120-150km gusty winds we’ve been having. One of our (only) fences did not fair so well. But I’m grateful it wasn’t worse because at one stage I feared the roof was going to blow.
What a relief when it didn’t!

**  Then tonight, just as we thought we might be about to turn into fish in a fish bowl, the rain cleared and gave us this view down the valley…

**  I can’t say I ever tire of that view. It’s ever changing!

**  Despite the storms this week I’ve actually enjoyed the excuse to stay inside and sew, because I haven’t been in best form. My body seems to be giving the good fight to whatever bug my girls have had for the last 3 weeks and I’ve had a good few afternoons in bed admiring my nice ceiling and resting. Thankfully I seem to be on the mend.

**  In between “rests” I’ve been doing quite a bit of sewing. Because I’m now officially booked in for my first market at the Underground Creative Markets on November 9th. After that date you can find me there fortnightly.

**  There has been quite a lot of playing with lace…

**  And refamiliarising myself with bias binding…

**  To grow my Summer dress collection…

**  It’s coming along beautifully, except for the fact that my studio now looks like this!

**  But since I’ve made 13 dresses in the last 3 days and my racks are now pretty full, I think I can at least call it a productive mess…

**  Today Inez (and shockingly Mr Flutter) both spent the day painting. Our kitchen walls are now finished YAY and the bedroom wing of the hallway is now primed. Inez is a painting legend!
Best barter I ever made was asking her to help me with the painting!

**  Ok, time to go watch the block NZ.
I’m a total renovation show a holic and there are only 3 more weeks to go on the block.
Who’s your favourite kiwi’s? I’m finding it hard to pick this year.

PS Last chance to pick up one of my patterns at 50% off. The sale will finish in the morning.

  1. And just when we think it’s getting to be cooler here, we are heating up again! But that is an incredible view from your deck!

Hope you’re feeling 100% soon – rest when you can & take care of yourself.

And I am sorry you have been laid low- reaction to everything? Be right soon!

  3. I don’t see anything wrong with your studio. It’s all laid out in “does this go with this?” piles, isn’t it? :oD

13 dresses in 3 days! No wonder you need a wee lie down in the afternoon!

Hope you feel better soon! :o)
